THE POWER OF YOUR VISION: SELF CONCEPT 2

The size of any challenge is relative to the perception of the size of our self concept. 

In other words, there is no big or small challenge, if it is supposedly "big" it is because we see ourselves as too small; if it is supposedly  "small" it is because we see ourselves as too big. 

As a prisoner and a foreigner, it was suppose to be a big deal considering an appointment at the Palace, but Joseph saw himself as someone worth working in the office of Pharaoh, hence he made the move via Pharoah's servants. 

Who told you, you can't work in that establishment? 

Who says you can't work in the office of the Consulate General? 

It is not your Certification that qualifies you, rather, it is your Mentality that qualifies you. It is not your training that gives you the edge, but your Powerful Mental Attitude. 

David, a civilian (shepherd boy) in the presence of other trained Israeli soldiers...took on Goliath: a General and a Warlord you may say. 

Your qualifications and certifications notwithstanding, until...your mentality qualifies you, your position won't change. 

How big are you in relation to what's in front of you?

The size and the quality of the opportunities you are pursuing, is a clue as to how much you think you are worth. 

Those opportunities are not for "them"....why are you eliminating yourself? 

It's time to revaluate how you see yourself.

REDEFINING YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE 2

The strength and complexity of any challenge is only as determined by the "goggles" from which you view them. 

[Goggles in this context refers to your paradigm/perspective about things]. 

A problem-magnifying "goggle" has only one function - to blow the size of situations and circumstances out of proportion. It so magnifies the  situation that over time it has a reverse effect on the assessment of your self image. 

So the bigger the situation appears, the smaller you appear to yourself. 

Another critical step to redefining your circumstance is to CHANGE YOUR PAIR OF GOGGLES. 

HOW YOU SEE a challenge is critical to how you will describe the challenge and will ultimately determine how you will approach the challenge. 

Perspective is Powerful. 

12 spies went to view Canaan, they all saw the same facts but viewed from 2 sets of Goggles: 

1. Problem-Magnifying Goggle (10 spies used this pair)

2. Problem-Miniaturising Goggle (Joshua and Caleb)

Ruth and Orpah were both widows - same circumstance. Naomi presented the same goggle (problem-magnifying) to the young widows to view their circumstance. Orpah bought it...and left, Ruth had a different set of goggles through which she viewed, hence she stayed. 

Be careful with whom you share your challenges with...some people are not counselors (age is not synonymous to Wisdom), some people are Problem-Magnifying goggles personified. 

So, what is your challenge? What pair of goggles are you looking through? 

Have you ever heard or used the expression "I'm just being REAL here"? 

The only REAL definition of a  situation is the definition that empowers you to solve it. 

Everyone saw a woman who had committed adultery..."the biggest of sins" - religiously speaking; Jesus saw everyone as equal sinners - EQUATING ALL SINS as the same. 

Their perspective was to kill a life, Jesus' perspective was to save all lives. 

Depression is you seeing your situation deeper than it actually is. 

Your Perspective...Your Choice.

REDEFINING YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE 1

The strength or complexity of any challenge is only as described by you. 

Your challenge is not special, you called it special. Your situation is not impossible, you called it impossible. 

Someone is saying "but that was what the Consultant said"...A specialist verdict is only a professional opinion about the situation, you still have a choice to agree or not to agree with the Consultant. 

You see, to fully overcome any challenge, you need a Powerful Mental Stance against that challenge; I didn't say, harness resources or go and prepare for it...No! First of all...change your mental positioning about the problem. 

Your Mentality has to be switched to a frequency where you see the challenge from a height of 30,000 feet and the challenge is below you. When you operate at this realm mentally, your language is affected. You use a different set of Adjective to describe the situation. Infact, sometimes you no longer see it; and the best part of it is that, your creativity comes alive.

If you see your Challenge from your eye level...you will be overwhelmed by fear; when fear sets in, it paralyses your capacity to think creatively. 

Everybody saw a Giant in Goliath, David saw a bird. How do I know? You use slings and stones for birds not for giants. 

If you don't win Mentally, You can't win Physically. 

Whatever exists in your Mental space, will soon exist in your reality. 

You are not in lack because you lack money...you are in lack because lack exists in your Mentality. 

If victory must be guaranteed, your Mental Stance has to change. 

You will not fail!

ARE YOU A PERPETUAL CONSUMER OR A PRODUCER?

Shopping is one of the biggest "fun" words in the 21st century. Everyone loves to shop, from kids to adults, boys and girls, men and women alike. 

 The truth is, someone somewhere has produced 'a good' or 'a service' that you and I are gladly subscribing to. Now the service is so impeccable that all we see is the feeling we have and the satisfaction we derive everytime we pay for such service(s); If only we also know that the person behind that idea IS GLADLY PUTTING THEIR HANDS IN OUR WALLETS AND TAKING OUR FINANCIAL RESOURCES AT OUR SAY SO. 

The question is are you a consumer or a producer? 

A consumer is one who goes to the market place and enriches everyone. From the UK, he financially empowers someone in the US, Asia, Australia depending on what he or she is shopping for. 

A producer is one who puts out goods and services out there for him to be financially empowered by those in his locality and abroad. The truth is, the world is designed to be balanced economically by the producer and the consumer. A producer of a service is probably a consumer for another.

For instance, if you are going out this morning...you have to look good. So, you paid for the toothpaste idea, paid for the toothbrush, paid for your shower gel, paid for your  cream, paid for your shoes and paid for the clothes you put on. I guess, you are even thinking I need some more clothes, a possible change of wardrobe. Can you see how much you have paid to look good? Don't even want to talk about your lunch (for those of us who eat out). 

The question is WHAT ARE YOU PRODUCING? 

Who is gladly PAYING YOU for your idea (goods or services).

Stop short changing yourself, you have been enriching everyone else but yourself. It's time to go to the market place with a new vision. It's time to consciously decide how much you will be paid today, this month, this quarter. 

STOP BEING ONLY A CONSUMER...it's time to be a PRODUCER. 

I have good news for you, EVERYTHING SELLS! Oh yes! EVERYTHING SELLS! That idea is not too small, that idea is also not too big...start taking steps. 

If you start nothing you will become nothing! 

...then Isaac sowed (produced) in that land, and received (people paid him gladly) in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. Gen. 26:12

God blesses Producers more: Abraham (a producer), Isaac (a producer), Jacob (a producer), Joseph (a producer). 

Do you want to be blessed of the Lord? Start Producing 'something'.

IT IS NOT OVER

There are those who believe life is a game of chance, there are those who believe life is predestination...hence ''whatever will be will be''. I have come to say, life is a ship that you continuously steer to your choice destination but on this ship, you are the captain hence absolute responsibility falls on you.

Just as it is common to sailing, storms are natural to life more so when you have made a decision not to remain where you are or settle for less than you think you deserve. However some people have been through situations and have decided to give up on reaching their ultimate destination. I have good news for you...

IT IS NOT OVER!

God instructed a 75 year old man called Abraham ''...FROM WHERE YOU ARE...LIFT UP YOUR EYES AND DREAM, AS FAR AS YOU CAN DREAM AND COMMIT TO HOLDING THAT PICTURE, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE ALL YOU CAN IMAGINE...Gen. 13:14-15

There was a young man called Joseph, who had spent a considerable part of his youth as a slave and then a prisoner, but dared to keep dreaming FROM WHERE HE WAS...suddenly his circumstance began to align with his Dream.

Do not let people's opinion about your age or circumstance affect your CAPACITY TO DREAM again. Some people are wallowing in self pity, depression, low self esteem just because they have been ridiculed and told their time was past. I tell you the truth, it is the biggest lie to subscribe to.

My message to you this morning is to GET UP and GET OUT from such negative mindsets and start to DREAM AGAIN FROM WHERE YOU ARE. I hear someone say, you do not know my story...it is the same story you have told yourself all this while that has kept you where you are. Hey! Why don't you seek a new and positive story? Why don't you choose to doubt your doubt for once? Break free from every limiting belief system. I dare you to dream again and once again I proclaim to you...

If you accidentally find yourself on the 3rd floor of a 7 storey building engulfed in a fire outbreak; what are some of the things that would come to your mind? 

Amongst alot of things...one thought will be so loud in your head "I DON'T EXPECT MYSELF TO DIE TODAY" and with such a thought, escape ideas will start flooding your mind. 

When you have LOW EXPECTATIONS of yourself, you will hardly push yourself; when you have HIGH EXPECTATIONS of yourself, you will amaze yourself.

In this new month we will be considering the theme, UP YOUR PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS.

Show me an Individual who is Driven, I will show you an Individual with High and Powerful Personal Expectations of Himself.

EMPOWER YOUR LITTLE STEPS BY A POWERFUL THOUGHT LIFE

Success is not by accident, it is never a product of chance. We can set goals, write them down but until we start taking deliberate steps in the direction of achieving those goals, we might never walk in their reality.

Should you desire a change in any area of your life, THE FIRST SIMPLE STEP is to DELIBERATELY CHANGE YOUR THINKING about the situation, challenge or task.  Hold a possibility mentality...SAY TO YOURSELF, IT IS POSSIBLE! Why? The human brain only goes to generate ideas that are consistent with our mental state. The day you tell yourself, I CAN BE PHYSICALLY FIT; your brain will suddenly start generating potential ways of achieving the reality of that mental state. The same way, when someone decides to be suicidal, it is the brain that comes up with the possible ways to achieve such a thought.                                                                                                                                                        So we need to pay attention per time to our mental state. It will interest you to note that, situations do not bow down to big steps; situations bow (respond) to your mental state. 

Once you smash every opposition mentally, suddenly your small steps now looks like massive steps. The truth is, it was not about your steps but your mental state as at the time such small steps were taken.  

Joseph did not get out of the prison by a legal representative, No! He saw himself as a man meant for the palace and then he simply sent his CV ahead of him.

David without a sword told Goliath, 'I will cut off your neck (1 Sam. 17:46)' How? He saw Goliath's head on the floor (mental vision of the situation) even before he swung his sling. (1 Sam. 17:50-51)

The woman with the issue of blood did not have to see Jesus for a one-to-one counselling nor for personal prayers; '...for she said within herself...'(mental state) [Matt. 9:21]. Remembebr Prior to this time, no one had been healed that way, so 

your mental state does not have to conform to conventionally acceptable patterns

Not necessarily big steps but POWERFUL MENTAL STATES. I dare you today to change your mentality concerning what you desire to change and see how much results your seemingly small steps will deliver. It is your turn for a turn around.

WHO ARE YOU?

You stepped into a function, you introduced yourself. 'Hi, my name is...' When children step out of the womb and arrive on earth, they are given names. As a professional, you met someone whom you think could drive potential business opportunities your way, you leave a business card. Why all these naming and identification at various levels?

YOUR IDENTITY IS A LINK TO YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Does it shock you, how sometimes you are moved to favour those who bare the same first or last name? Some people have got jobs just because of their surnames. Permit me to say...

OUR IDENTITY ALSO CREATES OUR REALITY

In the pursuit of destiny, the challenges and questions of life are only here to ask us two basic questions: 

1. Who are you?
2. Is your everyday mentality in alignment with who you say you are?

Before destiny can be maximally realised, there has to be a mental introduction of who we are. Now, when we attempt to be in pursuit of destiny without a proper definition and understanding of who we are, we end up with 'identity crisis'. Little wonder most organisations have a motto.

Identity in destiny is simply 'What are you saying about yourself in relation to your assignment, position or engagement'? 

It is so funny that people address us by our identification. If you say your name is Esther, nobody calls you Joan. YOU ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO BE CALLED WHAT YOU CALL YOURSELF. 
Identity does not have to be just names. Identity reflects in our 

• outlook, 
• appearance, 
• self carriage
• conversation

One of my mentors said, as a young black American growing in the poorest of places 'I learnt to dress as a PROSPECT not a SUSPECT'. He gave a definition to his appearance and today, he is one of the foremost inspirational speakers - LES BROWN.

David came to visit his brethren but he carried his identity (He had a mentality of himself that reads 'challenges do not phase me') and he carried himself in alignment with that consciousness; guess what? People called him what he called himself and within a short time, king Saul heard about him.                                                                                                Can you imagine a prisoner (Joseph) submitting his CV for a potential government opening. Yes, he was in custody but his mental identity was 'I am a man sorted after by kings and rulers'. It was only a matter of time before his circumstances changed to catch up with his mental identity. 

Until our mental Identity changes of who we are, our present realities would remain the same.

Hey! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LOOK LIKE IT, THINK LIKE IT!  Did David looked like he could physically face Goliath? Did Joseph (prisoner in a foreign land) look like he was heading for the throne? They both HAD A MENTAL REHEARSAL - VISUALISED IT ENOUGH TO BEHAVE LIKE IT...guess what? There circumstances changed, why? As a man thinketh...so is he. (Pro. 23:7a)

If you have a business challenge, family crisis or you are a single desiring a fantastic relationship, maybe you are in debt, etc. It is time for a change! But change must come from INSIDE-OUT not OUTSIDE-IN.

SOW COURAGE 1

Life will pay whatever demands you place on it. 

As a matter of fact the difference between where you are today and where you will be by the end of the year is a function of what you have the courage to demand for. 

Have you ever sat down to ponder on the scripture that says...

"Ask...and you shall receive...Seek...and you shall find...Knock and it shall be opened unto you..." Matt. 7:7-8 KJV (Paraphrase are author's).

Some of you will agree with me that there are some doors, you alone have tagged "unknockable"...there are some Opportunities you alone have tagged "Not for me"... 

...but why not you...?

Timidity has downsized your self assessment, limited your reach and now you say life is unfair-I am sorry but that's the lie you have been telling yourself for so long. Because everyone who ever dared to Ask courageously, dared to Seek courageously and dared to Knock courageously always got what they wanted. 

To all my "spiritual" friends...how many times did David pray to kill Goliath? How many all nights did he do? Did he fast? 

There you are...for just that little job interview, you prayed, fasted, did a personal all night, sent all the demons into the desert (even the ones that don't have business with your job interview), your Pastor prayed for you, you anointed yourself and after every every....the big day comes.

What is your name sir? You begin to feel all sweaty and shaky and for the simplest question every adult should comfortably answer...you are stuttering. 

We all are Destiny farmers and per time we are either sowing seeds of fear, caution or courage...and the outcomes around our lives today is a true reflection of the kind of farmer we have been.
