THE POWER OF YOUR VISION: SELF CONCEPT 4

"...and all the men of Israel, when they saw the man (Goliath), fled from him, and were sore afraid..." 1 Sam. 17:24

What are you afraid of...and why are you afraid of it?

Do not give up on a dream because of an expert or analyst opinion on the matter.

It is very normal to be wary of things "society" has tagged "impossible". More so, when you appear to be inexperienced considering your age or supposed limitation in training and resources available to you.

If you will amount to anything in life or in your pursuit, you must have to learn to see yourself differently.

Learn to focus on the goal and not the statistics.
Stop quoting the analyst...start reciting your own mission statement.

The potential of your capacity can not be determined by some existing statistics. Everyone failed does not suggest you too will fail.

"It is a widely held opinion" doesn't necessarily make it True.

Don't give up on anything until you have made series of unsuccessful attempts.

If you see challenges from the eyes of a non achiever, it is usually twice its original size. If you look at the same challenge from the eyes of an achiever, it is usually half its original size.

But when you look at challenges from your own eyes...you tend not to see them, why? All you see is your goal.

Everyone saw Goliath, David saw the rewards taking out Goliath will fetch him.

You will not fail!

Good morning and Happy New Week!

DON'T LOOK BACK

Emotions are very powerful; but this power could either be a booster or a weight on the path to success. Some people have used emotions to take giant steps and other people have also refused to take steps because of their emotional state.

A wise man once said: COMMITMENT IS STAYING LOYAL TO WHAT YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO DO LONG AFTER THE MOOD (emotional state) YOU SAID IT IN HAS LEFT YOU.

Have you ever seen people start certain things passionately and a few blocks down the line, they are beginning to consider walking away? What changed? Their emotions.

Someone would say, challenges grew bigger, right? But at the point of making the decision to commit, how come it seemed as though ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE and then suddenly it's beginning to be circumstance based? Emotions.

Greatness is never birthed by unstable emotions. FEELING GOOD ABOUT THE TASK IS A DISCIPLINE YOU DEVELOP, IT IS NOT WHAT THE TASK OFFERS YOU. The task will never remain the same, the challenges won't grow smaller, there would be bends along the road, bumps and pot holes alike, but you make a conscious decision to be in charge of your emotional state. STOP BEING EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE!

You see, the road to success is long and demanding already but when we allow our negative emotions to get in the way, it makes it even longer. Friends, receiving insults is part of it...being disrespected is definitely part of it...not being appreciated...sudden changes that you didn't anticipate...the list is endless. WILL YOU GIVE UP? WILL YOU LOOK BACK?

WILL YOU STAY COMMITTED?

Some people stopped going to the GYM because the trainer is too hard on them, now they look twice as big than their first appointment at the GYM. Why? They don't just feel respected...who was to gain in the process? The trainer or themselves?

Behind every divorce is an uncontrolled emotion.

Behind every business failure are negative emotions.

Behind every failure in life is self pity (a destructive emotional state).

Why are you always quick to walk away? Why do you keep 'giving-up' on things?

What am I saying? if the goal is yours and the dream is yours, keep your negative emotions out of the way AND REACH FOR YOUR DREAM!

Stop complaining about people, because you would meet people everywhere. The world was not created for you alone. So, DON'T YOU LET ANYBODY OR THE TREATMENT YOU RECEIVE FROM ANYONE STOP YOU FROM REACHING YOUR GOAL!

Joseph had every opportunity, I mean justifiable opportunities to be bitter and hateful but he knew that feeling good is a DISCIPLINE , not what life or people would offer. Did he succeed or not?

David, haven been anointed, preparing for kingship, had an enemy chasing him, yet he refused to be bitter...even when the temptation was so high, all he did was to keep alive but patiently waiting for his time.

If we don't keep our emotions on check, we would soon check out on our greatness.

Jesus gave a man a task...and the man said, he had his Dad's funeral to attend to and then, he will be back, guess what Jesus said...

...let the dead bury the dead: but go...(and do your assignment) Luke 9:59-60

How hard? Do you think Jesus was insensitive to his plight?

Jesus was simply teaching him to not allow 'the good' distract him from 'the task'.

In conclusion, Jesus said

...NO MAN, HAVING PUT HIS HAND TO THE PLOUGH, AND LOOKING BACK, IS FIT (QUALIFIED) FOR THE KINGDOM...Luke 9:62

Average people run average emotional lives...great people run powerful emotional lives.

YOUR EMOTION IS YOURS...ONLY YOU CAN KEEP IT IN CHECK, WHEN IT TRIES TO GET IN YOUR WAY TO GREATNESS!

Till when next you visit this blog...DON'T LOOK BACK!

DRIVE YOUR DREAMS 5

David was first a king as a shepherd boy, ruling and defending his father's cattle's before he became the King of Israel, ruling and defending his Heavenly father's children-Israel.

Joseph was first a "Domestic Staff" for Potiphar, maximizing his Management skills before he became the "Chief Executive Staff" of Egypt.

Whatever it is you claim you want to do or become, you can start doing the same at the very place and level you are today in your journey of life.

All great footballers playing for any prestigious club in any top league today, once played football on the streets of their neighborhood, with passion, joy and so much excitement as though it was already a dream come through.

It's easy to say David miraculously defeated Goliath; but what was a sling doing in his hand? How come he already had stones on him? Is it not obvious, that David was used to slinging for fun as part of his shepherd boy hobbies? He has so mastered the art, he could turn down Saul's armour and rather relied on his slinging mastery.
You want to be a fashion designer; begin to draw designs on old newspapers....enjoy it at that level, do it with a sense of pride.

You want to be an international business man, start rendering little services today; think about little needs you can meet at a fee, right now at the level you are.

I always say...you don't need branding to begin. If you see a problem, jump in there...show them you can fix it...and you are already in business. Those whose problems you have solved, will do your advertising campaign.

Be careful of "ego" it will keep you grounded for life.

You see, a man of ego will have problems selling "water", he will hide from his neighbours, he will rather employ someone to do it;
but a passionate man will knock on his neighbour's door "I'm in the business of making water available" how can I serve you today?

Do not despise the days of little beginnings.

Don't allow your ego get in the way of you taking small steps today in the direction of your dreams.

Drive your Dreams.

You will not fail!

Good morning and Happy New Week!

DRIVE YOUR DREAMS 3

A wise man once said

"Success is a journey and not a destination".

This journey is not validated by speed but by progress.

Between your current location (situation) and your intended destination (dream) is a specific distance. How soon you will get there, is not down to your "Uncle" not down to your "rich friends" not down to your "connection"...No!

You are the one who desires a change...you are the one with that intended destination as a goal...and so it's your distance to cover. It's all yours!

People can wish you well but your distance is yours to cover. An athlete can be cheered from the stands but his cheer leaders would not take his position on the tracks.

It's important you start to think about "dream miles".

Your dream and your plan might be so nice and attractive on paper; and yes, it is good you got it on your dream wall...but until you start doing your "dream miles" daily, that dream will only exist on a paper and on a wall.

A "zero dream mile" covered in 3 months, implies you have been at the same spot for 3 months.

In the past 48 hours, how many "dream miles" have you covered and how many "dream miles" are you committed to covering today?

Don't let any day end with you owing yourself some  "dream miles".
Do you want to lose weight? Do your ''dream miles''.

Do you want to build your Business? Do your ''dream miles''.
Do you want a great relationship with your partner? Do your ''dream miles''.

The man you see at the top, didn't just arrive there over night....

Do Your "Dream Miles".

You will not fail!

Good morning and Happy New Week!

DRIVE YOUR DREAMS 2

Just before Israel would take over Canaan, God asked Moses to send some spies to spy the land; beyond the strategic purpose for this exercise, it was important for Israel to have a clear definition of the characteristics of the land they seek.

In the pursuit of our goals, dreams or vision it is important we have a clear definition of what we are seeking. How does your vision look? How does it feel? How does it taste, smell, etc.

If you see what you are seeking...would you be able to recognize it?

When Joseph saw his fellow inmates who worked for Pharoah...I presume he must have felt some degree of closeness to living his dreams. Hence he knew what to say to them.

When David visited his brothers at the battle field, and he saw Goliath, he recognised his opportunity was nigh.

The servant of Abraham was clear about whom he was seeking, and when Rebekah came along he could recognise her.

Success is not a function of guess work; no one arrives at their dream destination unconsciously.

How would you know you are close to what you seek? How abreast are you with the facts of your vision?

Pilots are so abreast with the facts of the flight, that they tell you what weather conditions to expect, and an estimated duration of the flight.

What are your dream landmarks?

Every Building Project is carried out by using the Architectural Design as its Construction Reference.

In the pursuit of your Dream, what are some of the Milestones you can use to measure the progress you have made so far?

You will not fail!

DRIVE YOUR DREAMS 1

Between every location and an intended destination is a distance. A distance that must be covered if you actually desire to move from your current location to your intended destination.

Although this distance appears to be physical...you need to Mentally go the distance before it can physically materialise in your world.

This distance is underscored by Work, Sacrifice, Sweat, Focus, Dedication and everything between.

I need you to lock that dream down mentally: When you do, hard work no longer looks tasking because mentally you already finished the work.

Friends, don't try to begin a move you haven't finished already. Don't try to go a distance you haven't finished...because in all fairness, you will not complete it.

Your body cannot stretch beyond your mental vision of how the body is meant to stretch for a given task.

I need you to mentally see that dream as already achieved. If you lock that image mentally...you will never miss that dream.

When you act unsure, the dream is not locked-in; when the work demands of your goal wearies you, that dream is not locked-in.

The difference between an achiever (A) and an underachiever (UA) is simple....

(A) sees the dream as already achieved (mentally) and then he goes to work...whereas the other, (UA) sees the dream as a "to-do" before he goes to work.

When challenges come up...(A) sticks to his game...because he already saw the dream as achieved while (UA) suspends the dream because to him it's on his "to-do" list.

What do you now say about your dream?

"Done" or a "To-Do"?

For as a man thinks in his heart...so is he. Not so he shall be...but...so is he.

You will not fail!

Good morning and Happy New Week!

WHAT IS YOUR PRACTICE?

As children most of struggled with the multiplication table (Tables 2 to 12). Personally, I only got to master it when I was 13 years old. How did that happen?
I was privileged to have an academic mentor who oversaw my learning. I didn't study anything new, he only made me DO THEM REPEATEDLY FOR LENGTHY HOURS (minimum 4 hours study after school and 8 hours study during weekends). Initially, I grumbled and complained but I always completed ALL THE WORK (academic) given to me.

One day, he said to me "KNOWLEDGE IS IN THREE LEVELS"

1. Acquisition of Knowledge

2. Understanding of the Knowledge acquired

3. Mastery of Knowledge (applied knowledge)

He told me most people who claim they know, are most times on level 1. Very few, manage to get up to level 2. He continued by saying there is only one principle to change from one level to the next.

PRACTICE! PRACTICE!! PRACTICE!!!
The truth is, I left secondary school as a Mathematics Authority (at that level), no need to say how my school in my time worn trophies in Maths Quizzes. I Finished and immediately started making earnings as a Private Maths Tutor at age 17.

You can have a skill, a gifting or a calling...but until you commit to lengthy hours of Practice, it will not speak.

Check all sports men who make headlines, find out about their WORK ETHIC. I will tell you what you will see...UNTIRING DEDICATION TO PRACTICE...PRACTICE...PRACTICE!

Do you want to be the best in your field?

Do you want to be a global authority in your discipline?

PRACTICE is the master key!
There is NOTHING impossible to learn. It's a question of, how much we want to commit to the Practice of it.

Hear Paul's advice to a young Preacher...

...till (continuously devote) I come, give attendance to reading...neglect (fail not to practice) not the gift that is in thee...meditate upon these things...GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM...that thy profiting (success) may appear unto ALL (global success). 1 Tim. 4:13-15

How much time do you really devote to your skill? The above text suggests: GIVE YOURSELF WHOLLY...

It's time for the world to come to your business address. It is time your voice gets heard. The choice and the decision is yours.

What's your Practice and how have you been Practicing?

Till when next you visit this blog, KEEP PRACTICING!

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR GARDEN

Every farmer or gardener has a fundamental challenge. The challenge of weeds. So beyond the preparation of the soil and planting of the seed, there has to be a constant fight against weeds.

What are weeds?

Weeds are unwanted growing plants in the farm or garden. Most times, they fight the healthy growing of the plants and if the farmer does not constantly take them off they will eventually take up as much ground as they can.
Putting the above in perspective, in life we all have "weeds" to deal with. Don't watch sudden negative thoughts which are inconsistent with your Vision/training/conviction to settle. If you do, they will choke your set goals (plants) and your pursuit of them.

Weeds come in several forms: through thoughts (excuses), sudden decline in our resolve (procrastination), negative influences from old friends(engaging in things that don't enhance the achievement of our goals), etc.

Why am I not at the level of discipline I have always envisaged? Why can't we keep up with our daily workout routines?
There are certain habits that all of a sudden has altered your way of life...it is time to cut them off. Habits like being irritated by everything around you for no reason...wasting time on Facebook...desire of things you don't necessarily need but just because everyone else has it, you can't help but get one...how come we lie and don't feel disappointed in ourselves anymore?

But from the beginning it was not so...

These things came in unnoticed, and because we didn't pay attention to see that it is choking up our "destiny plants", they have kept us at a low level. It's time to make a change.

Gal. 5:9 says:

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump

It always starts with just "a little" (just for this once). Some people are now alcoholics because of they wanted to have "a little" for their stomach sake.

There are certain friends we need to let go...they are not necessarily bad friends, but they don't enhance our focus. They keep coming up with time wasting ideas in a bid to have fun; there are certain TV shows we need to stop, it corrupts our faith...attacks our mission consciousness. These are weeds.

The tricky bit is, most weeds look so nice that, one can mistaken them for actual plants. But to spot them we need to know definitely what plants we are trying to grow.

When most distraction comes they don't necessarily look like one.

Till when next you visit this blog, KEEP PAYING ATTENTION TO YOUR GARDEN.

LIVING WITH A DIFFERENCE

Have you ever wondered why...two people will start something on the same level and yet end up at different degrees of success? What is the difference between the average achiever and the super achiever? Why do some kids do well at school and others don't?

In my little study, I have discovered one fundamental answer that answers all the above questions and many more of such questions.

THOSE WHO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE COMMIT TO DIFFERENT TYPE OF DISCIPLINE UNLIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

Paul said...

"I have the right to do anything, you say-but not everything is beneficial. " I have the right to do anything-but I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Corinth. 6:12

Have you ever sat down to evaluate the outcomes at your academics, career, business or finances? Why are you not reaching your goals? It is time to review your personal discipline. Some people started well, and for some reason discontinued along the way, some people are non-finishers, if they start 10 things, they can not see 5 through to the end...it's a lack of personal discipline.
I dare you to commit to a course (FULLY), a process or even a personal program for 3 (FULL) months and see how wonderful your life will turn out. STOP WALKING AWAY, STOP GIVING UP AND ACTING ALL OVERWHELMED!

Someone say, but it's hard...Yes! It was not designed to be easy. Anything of value comes with a price...you don't buy a Bentley with a few dollars, do you?

The good news is...WHEN TOUGH TIMES COME, IT WILL TAKE YOUR PERSONAL DISCIPLINE TO KEEP YOU GOING. Those who breakdown during tough times do so because prior to that time they don't have any level of personal discipline. Life circumstances is ALWAYS A WAKEUP CALL TO RESPONSIBILITIES WE HAVE IGNORED. That's why you pray more when challenges come...
Crying, nagging and self pity does no good to you. Laying blames, and giving excuses for the average results in and around your life makes you unfit for your next level.

The funny part is not being disciplined is also a discipline in itself.

Wake up! Address yourself...look into the mirror and challenge the person you see in there. Ask him/her...

WHAT DISCIPLINES ARE YOU COMMITTED TO?
WHERE WILL YOUR CURRENT DISCIPLINE LEAD YOU? If you keep doing what you are doing now, how you are doing it, and continue for the next 3 months, where will you arrive?

It's a shame that the trend these days is...someone who has the capacity to deliver a 95% outcome, only delivers 40% and yet, they celebrate themselves and give themselves a 'treat'. I see adults put themselves on a self destructive pedestal all in the name of "rewarding themselves" for what? A mediocre lifestyle? Being an underachiever is now laudable.

The seventh month is coming to an end...

Decide today to step up your discipline...

Discipline your thoughts...ALWAYS STAY OPTIMISTIC!

Discipline your Temperament...anger is a choice, it's not the circumstance but your choice.

Discipline your appetite...

Discipline how you speak to people: learn to communicate, stop being cynical or verbally offensive.

Discipline your Time management...if it is 10a.m. be there 30 minutes earlier.

Discipline your expenditure...a man's wealth does not consist of how much he acquires but how much he can save and invest.

Discipline your sleep...if you sleep 8 hours a day, you are living an average life.

Be studious...LIVING WITHOUT READING IS DYING WITHOUT KNOWING

Do the work...increase your input and check what becomes of your output.

How often do you pray fervently in a week? Do you even study the Word..? Decide to do better from today.

Till when next you visit this blog, DECIDE TO START LIVING WITH A DIFFERENCE!
