TAKING INITIATIVE 4

 If you don't like the quality of the harvest obtained, pay attention to the quality of the seed sown. The harvest you are qualified for tomorrow is a function of the quality of the seeds you are sowing today. 

Paul puts it this way...

"...He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.." 2 Corinth. 9:6 KJV.

I may not be sure about the size, the quality and longevity of the future you seek in your business, career, family life, faith walk, etc. but, the quality, the size and the robustness of the initiatives you are taking today definitely gives a clue. 

God will not fill up the jars you didn't line up, No! God will not open the doors you weren't bold enough to knock on, No!

The ideas you never cared to pen down today...cannot magically evolve into books tomorrow. 

The company you didn't register today cannot become a conglomerate tomorrow. 

If you don't take the classes, you won't be certified. 

You cannot become an expert in an area of business or skill tomorrow, that you haven't consciously invested time to learn about today. 

If the guy is putting in 12 solid hours into practice and you are putting just 7 hours, I don't care who is prophesying over your life...he will beat you on the day of the race. 

Don't get it mixed up...the size of your investment today is what determines the size of your harvest tomorrow. 

If you anticipate a great harvest, put in a great seed; an average seed will only produce an average harvest. 

It also goes to say...the size of your irresponsibility today, will determine the measure of your pain tomorrow...if you doubt me, ask the "prodigal" son. 

All roads lead to a destination, all flights lead to specific location...don't wish for the destination to be different when you can actually do something about the road you are on. 

It's time to take initiative for the future you anticipate.

KNOW HOW: THE COMPASS OF DESTINY

Being successful at any endeavour in life requires a 'know how'. It does not matter how complex it seems, all you need to do is settle down and understand the 'how to' and then diligently apply yourself there in and you will become a star. 

To most of us, launching a rocket might come across as a mountainous task, why? We lack the 'know how'. But to an expert in the field, it is a basic operation. 

YOU CAN'T ASSUME A 'KNOW HOW'

You either know 'how to' or you don't. A wise man once said,

"a man without skill will kill"

Let us see what the bible says:

The Labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knows not HOW TO go to the city. Eccl 10:15

Diligence with little information is a labour that makes weary. Knowing your destination (the city) does not guarantee arrival at destination. 

For instance, as little children we all shouted what we will like to become when we grow older, whenever the question was asked, right?

Someone screamed 'a pilot' others said 'a captain' etc. That is knowing the destination but arriving at the destination will require 

1. the discovery of the 'how to' become...

2. the application of one's self to the 'how to'

All of these brings us to the following questions:

1. Where are you going in life (destination)?

2. Have you settled down to discover how to get there?

3. Have you been applying yourself diligently?

Older married couples always say, there is a lot of divorce in homes today because most young people ASSUME they know 'how to' run a successful home/marriage. 

Hence their assumption delivered its full package. 

Would you engage the services of a pilot who 'thinks' he can fly your plane? 

Would you engage someone as a legal professional who says he was anointed to be a barrister? 

When you visit the garage for your car to be fixed, stop arguing...if you knew what the problem was, wouldn't you have fixed it? You say, he charged too much, but in reality that's how much your ignorance on the subject is costing you. 

As a business man, how much are you investing in yourself so as to 'know how' to run a successful business?

As a potential parent, how much are you investing in yourself in order to 'know how' to raise sound and responsible kids? 

Knowing the city/goal/destination is not enough. It's time to sit down and discover 'how to' get there. 

I will leave you with this: 

a successful flight is achieved because every major component of the plane is functioning optimally. There are four basic component in an individual's life:

1. Relationship with God

2. Career/Business/Calling 

3. Family

4. Character Development 

If you fully comprehend how much you need to invest in all four areas, you will stop wasting time. Hence I say,

A successful life is a life that is successful in all four major components.

Remember you can not assume a 'know how'.

Prepare...Prepare...Prepare!

I am not sure how the past 11 months had been for you but if the next 11 months will be different, then,  there is the need for preparation. 

You thought you lost a 100K business opportunity...You thought you lost that apartment...You lost that job...They said they will call back but never did...You wanted to buy but they refuse to sell...Your application was declined...etc.

Hey! Listen up...something BIGGER...something GREATER is coming....Are you ready?

Who was Ruth's first husband compared to her second husband? 

As powerful as the leadership of Moses was, he could not take Israel into the promise land...Israel needed to continue that journey with Joshua. With Moses, they past through the Red sea on dry ground...with Joshua...the walls of Jericho came crashing. 

It's important you stop crying and position yourself for "Boaz"; I know you liked "Moses"...yes, he brought you out of "your Egypt" and you hurt because he is no more here...Hey...can you see the mandate of "Joshua"?

Get ready...or...be overwhelmed. 

God is bringing you into new territories and if your heart and vision is too small...if you aren't prepared for it....you might think you are in the wrong opportunity. 

Don't expect God to fill 100 jars when you only made 10 jars available...

The sound of the abundance of "rain" will either water your seed, your farm....or....flood your land.

Work It Now [WIN] Series: Episode 4

David was anointed to be king yet, it took several years after he was anointed before he eventually emerged as a king.

Joseph told his former inmates to speak to Pharaoh about him and yet, they initially forgot not until Pharaoh had a supposedly unpleasant dream before they could remember him. 

The foolish virgins were called foolish not because they didn't carry oil in their lamps...but because they didn't carry extra oil in the event that the groom delayed his coming; they eventually ran out of oil just before the groom showed up. 

Friends, I need you to brace up...because in this journey of pursuing your dreams, some of your plans will be exhausted; some things might take longer than anticipated; some people would not deliver like they have promised...yet, you need to keep....keeping on. 

So, in your planning...make provisions for double; if it will take 3 miles...prepare physically for 6 miles. Why should you be exhausted when you are just close to the finish line?

Those who make it to the end...make plans that can keep them in the race until the end. 

CALL TO ACTION:

1. What do you require for the next phase of your dream?

2. What resources (Mental, Physical and Financial) do you need?

3. Prepare for twice as much as you require in question 2.

LIVING LIKE A SPORTS MAN

 A wise man once said, 

"Champions are not made in the ring, they are only recognised in the ring...champions are made in their everyday rehearsal" 

In the world of sports, aiming for trophies is the biggest goal for all. This is why, they submit to coaches (mentors), personal trainers (teachers), personal discipline, etc. They live everyday of their lives with a major tournament in focus. 

They sweat it out on a daily basis on the field, ring, or in the gymnasium. They might be in pain, but for the glory ahead, they endure. Some of them give up friendships and social habits that does not enhance the quality of their preparedness for the tournament. You can see it clearly in the tone of their body muscles. 

The truth is we can live the philosophy of the sports man in our pursuit of destiny.

Paul said...

Know ye not, that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 1 Corinth 9:24

It's time to set your goals as major sports tournament. Desire winning like a sports man. Enough of living like a spectator or a sports analyst. 

WHAT ARE YOU REHEARSING FOR? What disciplines would you commit to daily that would make you the best in your area of specialty. These days, people talk less of excellence and celebrate being average. Don't be caught with in that web. 

It's time to run like you want the medal. My teacher once told me, the key to unending success is PREPARE! PREPARE!!PREPARE!!! 

Some of you say, you want to be the best you can be but, the friends you keep close make you sound like a joker, your eating and sleeping  habit is contrary to the objective, what you commit to socially is amazingly ridiculous for the goals you have.

It's time to wake up! Greatness is upon you stop wasting away! Stop living like a spectator, all they know to do and all they prepare for is fun. Stop being an analyst, all they know to do, is to talk and judge those who are actively engaging in the field/ring. 

In the following week, month, quarter or year, set yourself daily goals that will make you the best. Yes! The best! Commit to the discipline that will make you become or achieve that goal, put an end to every friendship that will not feed that objective... Get a coach/mentor/Personal trainer and COMMIT TO THEIR INSTRUCTION AS IT APPLIES TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT and watch yourself become an amazement to yourself. Do you remember, it took a driving instructor to get you your Drivers License?

Believe it or not...IT WILL ALWAYS TAKE A COACH. Show me a man who is committed to a coach, I will show you a man on his way to the top. Only spectators and analysts live without one. 

You too can be celebrated! You too can be given an award! You too can make global headlines!

THERE ARE THOSE WHO MAKE THE NEWS, THERE ARE THOSE WHO REPORT THE NEWS! YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THEM...Have you been reporting? It's time to switch roles. RUN THAT YOU MAY OBTAIN!

BUILD UP YOURSELF 2

Everything rises and falls on Leadership - John Maxwell. 

Your life is like a Nation and everything you are involved in are like institutions of that Nation and guess what...You are the Prime Minister or the President. 

If your Nation is failing economically it is because you have not built that sector of your Nation. If your industries are failing it's as a result of lack of working knowledge. 

Haven't you observed...an underdeveloped Nation attracts less investors...so also an underdeveloped individual attracts less opportunities. 

There is a place for prayer, there is a place for fasting, there is also a place for miracles but none of these will be a substitute for practically building up your life. 

The Tower of Babel didn't go up by Prayers, yet they were so pragmatic in their approach that God came down to stop them. [Gen. 11:6].

It's time to settle down and look inwards...see areas of your life that needs attention. Go for relevant trainings, go online and educate yourself...do whatever it takes to build yourself. 

An underdeveloped CEO will ruin his business venture. Next to a system that appears not to be working is an ignorant/underdeveloped operator. 

When you build up yourself, the things around and the things you are responsible for are also affected; when you decide not to commit to continuous Personal Development, soon everything around you begins to experience stagnation. 

What you are yet to see in your life is what you are yet to grow into; and what you are yet to grow into is what you don't deserve. 

You will not fail!

PUT YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER 3

Something significant happened to Israel on their way to Canaan. As they began their Exodus from Egypt to Canaan, Israel WAS NOT a Unified entity. 

"...and the Children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot...and a MIXED MULTITUDE went up also with them..." Ex. 12:37-38 (KJV Paraphrase are author's). 

One nation, one God, possibly one goal but not necessarily a UNIFIED ENTITY. 

The "Mixed Multitude syndrome" is a syndrome that always attempts to follow you into your Canaan.  

Jesus knew his mission was to die, but when the time drew close, the "mixed multitude syndrome" kicked in...he said "Lord if it be your will let this cup pass from me" but he later realigned to the assignment and went all the way to the crucifixion. 

Believe it or not...there is "this hold" your past circumstance (success or failure) will always have on you...and sometimes, it certainly affects your new journey. It's a hold that affects the order in your paradigm.

God told Gideon "the men you have are too much,  now, ask THE FEARFUL to go back home". With a few more tests, 33000 men were reduced to 300 men. 

Even Abraham had to let Lot go for him to make progress...and it was after Lot separated God began to speak to him to enlarge his perspective. [Gen. 13:14-15]

Who is in your team?

Have you been carrying 33000 men for a task that will require just 300 men?

You have known them for long does not necessarily mean they are relevant to your assignment.

There is nothing wrong with synergising and partnerships but sometimes you also need to know the battles that are exclusively meant for you-Yes, JUST YOU!

It's time deal with your own mixed-multitude! It's time to Put Your House In Order.
